Mental Health and Wellbeing
At St Laurence, we take the mental health of our children, parents and staff very seriously. We have consultations with Compass Changing Lives where we discuss the needs of any children who have been identified by either staff or parents. We will always inform you and request consent to discuss your child. If you feel that you need support with your own mental health, please read the leaflet for Talking Mental Health below.
You can refer your own child to Compass Changing Lives (previously Build Sound Minds):
More complex mental health needs can be referred to CAMHS (Children and Adolescent Mental Health Services) via your GP or our SENCO (Miss Ross). Depending on the age of your child, both Compass and CAMHS may work with parents in supporting your child rather than directly with the child themselves.
If you are concerned about your child's mental health, or if you feel that your mental health may impact your child, please contact Mrs Shields (Headteacher/Safeguarding Lead) or Miss Ross (SENCO).
